DUCKBILL VALVES

Duckbill valves are suitable for a variety of applications. Some models are ideal for manhole and end-of-pipe outfall installations. Others are installed for the purposes of sewer system control and sewer backflow prevention. Still others are used for stormwater control and for wastewater treatment applications.

Certain duckbill models can be used in industrial applications, such as corrosive slurry handling, caustic chemical applications, and high-temperature chemical reactions.

The design and structure of duckbill check valves make them widely applicable in pressured fluid environments. The elastomeric bill design is low-maintenance, rust-free, and can be highly responsive to very subtle pressure changes across line fluid. These valves do not require a power source or any exterior action to operate.

Fuller Valve offers a variety of Rubber Duckbill Check Valves, and Inline Rubber Check Valves that are an exceptionally reliable and cost effective method to control back pressures in sewage treatment plants.

These valves are fully passive flow devices, which require absolutely no maintenance whatsoever, no source of power or manual operating assistance, and are an excellent alternative to conventional flap gate valves and other check valves.

The flexible Rubber Duckbill Valve is normally closed but will open with the very minimum of head pressure and always providing maximum flow with minimal pressure drop across the valve. Conventional Flap-Gate Check valves, and other check valves are mechanical and have metal components that are commonly know to malfunction, rust, and seize.

Rubber Duckbill Check Valves will handle obstructions without jamming or binding, and guarantee trouble free back flow prevention.

Fuller Valve's Rubber Duckbill Check Valves are an exceptionally reliable and cost effective alternative to flap-gate valves and other conventional check valves.

Rubber Check Valves require minimal maintenance; the simple one-piece design and reinforced rubber construction eliminate the mechanical and metal components that rust and seize in conventional flap-gates and check valves.

Duckbill Check Valves are a passive - reactive device requiring no external mechanisms or power source to operate. The flexible rubber sleeve is normally closed but will react and open with as little as 1 inch of head pressure and always providing maximum flow with minimal pressure drop across the valve.

This ease of operation reduces standing water in sewer pipes where mosquitoes and other pests can thrive.

The all flexible construction will pass large objects without blockage yet offers exceptional back flow prevention and can even seal around trapped solids with as little as 1 psi of back pressure.

Fuller Valve's Rubber Duckbill Check Valves are manufactured with top quality materials including an outer layer specially formulated to repel growth of marine organisms.

Typical Applications

* Storm water outfall
* Flood control systems
* Pumping stations / Wet wells
* Sewer interceptor check valve
* CSO / SSO / Effluent discharge
* Submerged outfall diffuser nozzles
* Coarse bubble air diffusers

Available Elastomers

Standard construction is a natural gum rubber inner tube with a multi-resistant Neoprene outer cover.
Neoprene is also commonly used for the inner tube in sewage and treated effluent applications.
Other elastomers are available but not often required where this style of valve would be used.
